Estefania and Andres got married at the brand spanking new Walden Chicago in Chicago, IL. It was a beautiful intimate micro wedding, with skyline views, indoor garden wall, and a marimba & violin musical duo to keep guests and their immediate families entertained. Estefania is a frontline nurse and going to school and like all of the 2020 brides she was planning a 2020 Chicago wedding when things began being cancelled or postponed. Not knowing when she would get married now, she got that lucky call from Lori Sapio of LuxeStyle Shoot that she had won a wedding giveaway that would be fully planned and taken care of. All she and her fiance had to do was show up. Thanks to all the vendors this wedding went off without a hitch.

THE CEREMONY

The ceremony took place in a stunning room with surrounding windows on the second floor of the Walden and was simply decorated with a balloon arch, which was lovely. The ceremony was made even more special when both the groom and bride’s mothers gave special readings in Spanish to their children. Tears were expelled. in this moving occasion, full of private memories. After the ceremony, the bride and groom took photos on the rooftop overlooking downtown Chicago, which is such a great time for the newly married couple to have some time to let it sink in, that they are now husband and wife. The weather at this micro wedding was perfect and sunny, a little too blinding, but that didn’t bother them at all. Guests waited and mingled in the reception hall on the first floor of the venue during this time.

THE RECEPTION

The small cake cutting reception was held at the same venue, which is the best thing about The Walden. The venue offers 2 floors so once the ceremony is over guests can go downstairs without having to wait long for setup. It’s also perfect because it provides you with everything you will ever need, and it’s got such a modern yet elegant vibe. For the reception, the planners had organized live music from Fretless Music to play the Marimba and Violin for their guests. Creating beautiful atmospheric music. Because it was a short wedding the guests enjoyed the cake cutting and couple’s first dance before we ended with family photos. From beginning to end the wedding was less than 2 hours. Which frees you to spend the rest of the day doing more fun things as husband and wife all in the same day.

TOP TIP FOR PLANNING A WEDDING

Don’t sweat the small stuff. I was in your shoes a few years ago in planning a wedding. No one but you knows what goes wrong in a wedding so if it does pivot your focus on what has gone right. What really matters at a wedding are the two of you as we saw with this Chicago mini wedding. Added bonus are your parents, siblings, grandparents, and a few of your closest best mates cheering you on as you start this new adventure. In total there were no more than 15 people in attendance.
